At Land is an ongoing series of photographs made with various cameras and film stocks to chronicle my long walks along the Pacific Northwest coast and islands of the Puget Sound. I have always been fascinated by the history and cultural significance of extended wandering, and these ritual walks— which stretch anywhere from one to twelve miles— have become an important part of my life and practice.

A meditation on where the edge of the world begins or ends, they serve as a metaphor for moving toward the unknown and taking pleasure in a degree of discomfort or uncertainty.
